I live in outside of Houston and i’m coining this time in my matcha-life “The Great MatchaGirl Disaster” because of that poor girl who opened a matcha pop-up here that was an epic fail with watered down matcha’s for $11, sparking unrest in the matcha community. It’s been giving me nightmares. Thank you for this post— have been in need of positive matcha vibes on my feed. LOL
i’ll be in nyc in a few weeks + have recently started swapping my usual double espresso cappuccino (lol) for matcha so this roundup couldn’t have come at a better time 😌
Matcha Cafe Maiko has a great matcha soft serve. My brother is not a matcha person at all but he literally asks for this ice cream every time he visits me. It's thick, creamy, and just the right balance of earthy/sweet.
I just tried the magnolia bakery matcha banana pudding and matcha latte since I’d seen some creators combine the two - like montauk general did and it was genuinely awful 😭 so sad I missed that collab especially since she just brought it to LA!

No Matchaful? Also I’ve only done decaf latte at cafe integral but they have matcha AND make their own milks
